Learning unit contents
Following the course Social and Cultural Anthropology 1, this course covers the theoretical developments that have marked the discipline from the 1960s to the present. It is organized around various themes: resistance, ethnicity, globalisation, science, and so forth. The theories dealing with these issues are illustrated by case studies in various ethnographic contexts.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
To introduce students to contemporary anthropological theories. At the end of the course, students will be able to explain these theories, to highlight how they contribute to the understanding of the social world, and situate them in the evolution of anthropological thought.
