Units courses prerequisite and corequisite

Prerequisite or corequisite units are presented within each program

Learning unit contents

The aim of the course is to help students understand, question and manipulate the various tools used to communicate and represent a project, with the aim of translating the design and architectural intent into tangible terms.

The approach is to compare the analysis of the tools of communication and project representation with the experience of visiting buildings and the underlying architectural purpose.

3 modules :
- module 1 (1 session): "The project and its representations": introduction
- module 2 (3 sessions): "From representation to spatial experience": visit to an architecture exhibition and built references
- module 3 (3 sessions): "Deciphering": critical analysis of the project's communication tools identified during the visits, and report on the analysis through the "conception-discourse/representation/experience" relations.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

At the end of the course, students should be able to :??

- decode a communication medium and situate it in the theoretical, conceptual, methodological and political context of the project.

- effectively communicate the project in line with the concept, the chosen communication medium and the target audience.??

- take a well-argued communicative stance;??

- understand and assume the choice and political impact of a graphic representation;??

- undertake observational, sensitive and critical readings, and integrate the results of investigations into a global synthesis, using an appropriate representation tool.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

Graphic communication techniques and theoretical background acquired during bachelor's degree course.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The course will be based on a visit to an architectural exhibition and references built in connection with this exhibition.

Mode of delivery (face to face, distance learning, hybrid learning)

Blended learning

Additional information:

The course will be taught partly ex-cathedra, partly on trips, and partly in the form of workshop sessions in which students will be asked to work in groups.

- Formulate critical conclusions from the explorations carried out during the visits and coaching sessions.

Evaluation criteria are as follows:

- Ability to decode a medium of communication and project representation
