Partim A

The course is divided into three parts: The first part focuses on understanding juvenile delinquency and how to assess individual delinquent behavior in adolescence. An introduction to adolescent issues and some of the preconceptions attached to juvenile delinquency will be discussed. Next, a series of criminological theories will be examined, with a view to understanding adolescent delinquency. The question of assessment will also be an issue in this first part of the course, with a particular focus on risk factors and associated measurement tools. The course will also present innovations in assessment that integrate the young's strengths. This part will conclude with an integrative exercise that identifies a series of assessment targets for justice involved-youths, as well as their application to interpersonal relationships. The second part  will deal with specific situations relating to juvenile delinquency, including bullying and cyberbullying. Finally, the third part of the course looks at intervention in juvenile delinquency, whether through the development of strength-based approaches, the issue of social climate in placement settings or motivation for care.

Partim B

The last part concerns the worskshops and the development of an expertise about some criminological theories and their application in specific situations related to juvenile delinquency.
