Learning unit contents

The purpose of this course is to familiarize students with basic economic mechanisms by analyzing individual behaviour (microeconomics).
The course covers the main topics of microeconomics: theory of demand, theory of production and costs (externalities included), perfect competition, monopoly and so on.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

At the end of the course, the student will be able, in line with the Key Learning Outcomes:
- to master basic notions of economics (strategy).
- to explain and to analyse individual economic behaviour (microeconomics) (strategy);
- to understand and to explain, in a critical perspective, the relations between the main economic variables (strategy and control);
- to think critically, to be curious and to apply scientific rigour stratedy and adaptability).

Ex cathedra presentations.
Exercises are given in order to present the chapters of the course in a practical way.
