Course contents :
| - Description of analytical protocols and detailed analysis of exemplary cases. - Problem-based learning. - Presentation of the set of problems considered within the PBL. - Preparation of an experimental design and practical realisation in the laboratory: literature review on the subject, than practical laboratory exercices in order to establish a detailed concise and accurate report. - Visit of a laboratory acredited within the domain of trace analysis. - In function of circumstances (particular research themes, disponibility of apparatus ...)the themes could be selected in collaboration with other departments of the faculty.. |
Learning outcomes of the course :
| - The course is designed to bring a complement as regards instrumental analysis in particular :chromatography and GCMS. - Starting from official standard procedures or from protocols obtained from scientific literature, control an analytical procedure including various key stages - To look further into the quantitative aspects of the processes and to propose a critical description of the results obtained during the laboratory experiments. - To make practical investigations on a up-to-date subject After completing the course the student is expected to - manage independently a complete (multi-step) protocol of analysis - demonstrate good knowledge and understanding of the scientific instruments used to solve the different encountered problems - master data interpretations in the light of bibliographic references |
