Learning unit contents

Fieldtrips, dedicated to the different aspects of the geology of Wallonia are introduced by lectures, giving a general canvas (global changes, orogenic cycles, plate tectonics) to the lithostratigraphic units seen on the field.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

Basic knowledge of the geology of Wallonia and identification of the different units on the field.

This course contributes to the learning outcomes I.1, II.1, II.2, III.1, IV.3, VI.2, VII.3 of the MSc in geological and mining engineering.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Lectures and fieldtrips, each of them dedicated to an aspect of the geology of Wallonia, from Cambrian to Mesozoic.
