Units courses prerequisite and corequisite

Prerequisite or corequisite units are presented within each program

Learning unit contents

The course makes students investigate a real site in a given context. It may consist for example in a contamination problem. Students will perform a series of field tests (pumping, tracer, drilling, CPT, geophysics) to characterize the various properties of the subsurface with a view to achieve the given objectives.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

  • Design an integrated campaign for collecting hydrogeological, geotechnical and geophysical data.
  • Follow a geological drilling.
  • Conduct well surveys.
  • Characterize the spatial variations of parameters and data.
  • Integrate nd interprete a set of data.

This course contributes to the learning outcomes I.3, II.1, II.2, III.2, III.3, III.4, IV.2, IV.3, IV.5, VI.2, VI.3, VI.4, VII.1, VII.2, VII.3, VII.6 of the MSc in geological and mining engineering.
