Ergonomics (Partim by A. Van Daele)
The course will define the notions of physical and cognitive ergonomics. It will introduce the concepts of work, task (prescribed, actual...) and activity. It will present the analysis of work in a systemic perspective, based on numerous examples. It will give an overview of ergonomic intervention through its objectives, principles, criteria, steps...
Psychosocial aspects (Partim by A. Casini)
The course will provide an overview of the evolution and changes that have taken place in the world of work. It will address and define the different issues related to psychosocial aspects in work with links to research on the different PSRs.
Hygiene (Partim by D. Lison)
The course will introduce the main concepts of hazard, risk, exposure, permissible value, inter-individual susceptibility and will illustrate them on the basis of examples taken from the field. The different approaches to controlling chemical exposure will be presented.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

Ergonomics (Partim by A. Van Daele)
Raise students' awareness of the multiple facets of ergonomics and its current issues. To provide an overview of the basic concepts, reference models and methods of ergonomics. Introduce students to ergonomic intervention.
Psychosocial aspects (Partim by A. Casini)
To raise students' awareness of the concept of prevention and the theoretical aspects of the new "Code of well-being at work" and more particularly of the various psychosocial risk factors (PSR) and to grasp the issues at stake as future prevention specialists. Stimulate them to take a critical look in general and at the bridges that can be built between the new "Code of well-being at work" and the so-called "Peeters Law" concerning feasible and manageable work.
Hygiene (Partim by D. Lison)
Aim: Introduce students to the main concepts of toxicology and industrial hygiene to enable a dialogue with specialists in the field.
