Learning unit contents

THIS COURSE IS TAUGHT ON THE ESFAM CAMPUS AT SOFIA (BULGARIA)

The course is focused on the strategic dimension of HRM policies developed in modern organizations, and their contribution to innovation. In opposition to the universalistic and normative beliefs presented in numerous HRM textbooks belonging to the mainstream, mostly from the USA, the course aims at introducing students to the diversity of HRM practices. It tends to explain such diversity by referring to the contingent theory (which highlights the multiple contextual influences on HRM practices). Finally, it tries to stimulate a critical view of the current evolutions of modern organizations, particularly in terms of digital transformation.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

  • critical initiation to French-speaking and English-speaking literature in HRM
  • appropriation of operational analytical tools likely to capture the human aspects of management
  • critical analysis of HRM aspects linked to the digital transformation of organizations
