Learning unit contents

The course focuses on the arts of the European agricultural and metalworking cultures . In particular, modalities of appearance of the human figure are studied.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

From the beginning of the Neolithic in the Near East until the advent of metallurgists people in Europe, the most important sites (Gobekli Tepe, Catal Hoyuk, Stonehenge) are used to understand the evolution of the protohistoric arts of these people. The students will be able to think about the evolution of the iconography and plastic expressions during this very important period, at the origin of the historical societies.
