Learning unit contents

The "Introduction to Japanese Art" course presents a general overview of the japanese artistic productions, from prehistory up until the contemporary creations. Architecture, painting and sculpture will be developed chronologically, to allow for a perception of the evolution of styles throughout the various periods of Japanese Art History. The influence of the Japanese arts on the European productions at the end of the 19th century will also be introduced.
