Learning outcomes of the learning unit

Surface, drip and sprinkling irrigation engeneering formation After completing the course the student is expected to
- understand the hydraulic functioning of soil and plant and how they interact - compute and measure crop water needs - provide irrigation scheduling - use electrical resistivity tomography to study the soil-plant continuum - Understand the working process and the design of the different irrigation systems (surface irrigation, sprinkler irrigation, drip irrigation). - Understand, evaluate and manage a problem of salinity. - Incorporate social and cultural aspects in irrigation management

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

- Plant physiology - Introduction to bioclimatology - Edaphology - Hydrology - Applied fluid mechanics - Transport and distribution of fluids
