Physical and sport activities - Theory

Sports activities adapted to handicaps:
- the levels and structures of adapted physical activities in Belgium and the rest of the world.
- the classification of handicaps and the medical classifications of different types of handicapped people.
- Technical, tactical and technological analysis of sports practiced by physically handicapped people: adapted basketball, adapted tennis, adapted table tennis, seated volleyball.
- Technological evolutions (sport carriages, artificial limbs)
- The methods for evaluating the physical qualities of a musculoskeletal handicapped person
- Sensory handicaps and sports practice.
- Mental handicaps and sport practice.
- Physiological handicaps and sport practice.

The main goal of this course is teach concepts related to the practice of physical activities and / or adapted sports by less able people

Physical and sport activities - Theory

Practical works authorize students to live in real situation different adapted sports (basket-ball, badminton, volley-ball, torball). These practical works take place during 6 sessions of 3 h (3x1h) on Wednesday pm.
