Out-of-session examination(s)

Additional explanations:

1) One vocabulary test. This test will count for the written exam (10%). Students can retake it (less than 10/20) on the day of the written exam. If they do not retake it, they will receive a mark of zero for this part of the exam. If they pass (at least 10/20), they may be exempted of this part for the exam.

Written and oral exam in June.
2) The written exam will focus on the vocabulary (30%) and grammar (30%) covered in the course, and will also include a writing exercise (20%), as well as basic vocabulary (10%) for those who are not exempted. The written exam accounts for 75% of the final mark.

3) The oral exam will be based on a 2-page text from the Dutch-language press chosen by the student and dating from the current academic year. It represents 25% of the final mark.

PLEASE NOTE: students must register with their teacher and hand in their article (in class or by e-mail) BEFORE 30 APRIL for the oral exam, otherwise they will not be able to take it. As a reminder, absence from any part of the exam = 0 for the whole exam.

In case of a second session:

- registration for the oral exam must be made before 31 July
- students canbe exempted from the oral examination if they obtained a mark of 10/20 or more in this examination in first session
- if the student has to re-sit the oral, he/she may keep his/her press article only if it was not presented in the first session. If the student presented his/her article in the first session, he/she must choose another one for the second session (and send it by e-mail before 31 July).
