Learning unit contents

Various Renaissance Latin texts are translated and discussed during the course : most of them are historical texts or are related to main political, philosophical or social issues of the period ; texts from Petrarch, Poggio Bacciolini, Erasmus of Thomas More are regularly studied. The students will prepare those texts at home before courses and study personally a larger text they will choose by mutual agreement with the teacher.

The students will be familiarized with the Renaissance Latin authors language and with the bibliographic tools needed to translate and study their works.
