Course contents :  
The course will be an introduction to English linguistics. It will be based on a discussion of the following book: Douglas Biber, Susan Conrad and Geoffrey Leech, Student Grammar of Spoken and Written English, Longman, 2002.
Learning outcomes of the course :  
The acquisition of basic notions in English linguistics; insight in the grammatical and lexical specificities of the language.
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :  
Very good knowledge of English; Langue anglaise I.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :  
Some sessions will be devoted to specific exercises.
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :  
One hour a week during the entire academic year.
