Learning unit contents

General introduction to literary theory. Origin and history of the discipline. Survey of the major tendencies and recent developments.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

Providing the students with a basic knowledge of the various tendencies and methodologies in literary studies.
Developing the students' reflective capacities.
Preparing the students to read theoretical students autonomously.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

A sufficient command of French.

Lectures, based on powerpoint presentations.

Written exam in the Januari session. A sample exam will be made available to the students.
