Learning unit contents
An introduction to the explanation of poetic texts, based on an anthology of texts that mark the social and political history of the 19th and 20th centuries.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
Be able to explain a text using an appropriate theory and method (elements of literary history, textual semantics, rhetoric) in both written and oral form.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The main theme of the course will be the explanation of texts ranging from the French Revolution to the post-May 68 period (time permitting).
In addition to a few introductory and theoretical elements (some of which will be included in a syllabus that will be made available), the course will give pride of place to collective reflection and practical exercises. The active participation of everyone is therefore required.
