not available<br /><br /> The practical course aims to develop different types of language skills. Grammar: syntax of the complex sentence. Oral production: vocabulary analysis and discussion; group work, oral preparation of written work. Written production: writing short texts on different themes or language registers. Reading comprehension: reading simplified everyday or literary texts, paraphrasing and summarising key concepts. Listening comprehension: listening to texts of various types and registers, question-and-answer exercises, synonyms/contradictions, etc.

not available<br /><br /> Rudimentary knowledge of linguistic structures, phonetics, spelling, morphology and syntax, as normally possessed by a first-year student. A diploma or certificate from the Italian Language I course is therefore compulsory.

not available<br /><br /> The course is divided into two parts, one theoretical, the other practical, which are nevertheless closely coordinated. The grammatical points covered in theory are systematically applied in practice.
The skills acquired in written and oral production of the language are used to develop the linguistic and sociolinguistic skills (study of variation) which are at the heart of the theoretical teaching.
The frequency of theoretical and practical courses is compulsory at a rate of 50% of th. + pr. hours taken as a whole. Students who fail to reach this minimum threshold will not be admitted to the examinations. All courses are taught in Italian.

Written and oral examinations at the end of the year.
The written exam includes a test focusing on grammatical knowledge and written production skills (essay, commentary on a text, etc.). The mark for the written exam counts for 25% of the overall mark.
The oral exam consists of a series of questions covering the entire syllabus developed during the year. The aspects taken into consideration in the oral test are: the appropriateness of the answers to the questions asked, the structure of the speech, the knowledge of the grammatical and lexical resources covered in the course and the mastery of linguistic and grammatical terminology.
Students will sit the oral exam provided they have obtained 7/20 or more in the written exam and have attended at least 50% of the th. + pr. courses taught.
The partial test organised in January is non-exempt. The mark will count for 20% of the overall June mark if passed (> or = 10/20). If the mark is insufficient (< 10/20), it will not affect the overall mark.
Passing the June written exam does not exempt you from taking the written test in the following session.
