Description and use of different types of materials used in automotive: metals, ceramics, polymers and composites.

To choose the best material required by a particular application or for particular properties

PHYS0904 : Physics of materials
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :  
Workshops : Use of the CES software (Ashby method) to select a material ; Learning by project. Group project

Face-to-face theoretical lectures; workshops.

Lecture notes available at the laboratory of Metallic Materials Science (MMS).
