Course contents :

| The thesis consists in an original research work in a domain related to physical activity, physical education or sport or in a more fundamental domain in relationship with biomedical modules, for example. |

Learning outcomes of the course :

| - To develop the scientific spirit. - To develop the student's autonomy, particularly through the organisation and the follow up of the experiments (in collaboration with the promotor), the critical analysis of the scientific literature. - To promote the initiative spirit and to develop the student's competencies in evaluating and discussing the results of his/her original work. |

Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :

| Cours proposed by Prof. M. Cloes in the 3d grade of the Bachelor in Sport Sciences (Research methodology in sports and physical activities) as well as in two courses planned during the 1st grade of the Master in Sport Sciences (Preparatory seminars for research in sciences of motor operations
+ Depth issues in physical education and sports, Part I). |

Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :

| The student choses one promotor (logically the one which whom he/she worked during the 1st grade of the Master in Sport Sciecnes). Experimentations are planned during the whole academic year. Writing of the thesis must be ready at the end of the second semester. |

Assessment methods and criteria :
 |
| The thesis is based on a manuscript (± 50 pages), including the following chapters: introduction, literature, objectives, methods, results, discussion, conclusion, bibliography.
In June or September, the student has to present and defend his/her work in front of a Jury designated by the Studies' Council. |
