Study of opera: a first transversal and historical approach.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Students will assist at several performances at the "Opéra Royal de Wallonie" and the "Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie". These performances are introduced by an general introduction to the opera's world, its history and by specific lectures relating to the respective performances.

Lectures at the University ; performances at the Opéra royal de Wallonie.

The bibliography relating to the repertoire staged at the ORW will be communicated to the students.

Additional information:

The mark of the midterm exam in January will count for 30% of the June final grade if > or = 10/20 (the mark will have no effect on the final grade if it doesn't reach 10/20).
