Learning unit contents
The course adresses the different modes of inequality and discrimination,
and the ideologies that legitimize them, across societies, and more
particularly within our society. It also studies the articulation between
inequalities of class ("social" inequalities), gender and race ("cultural"
inequalities). At the same time, it considers the policies put in place
to reproduce and/or combat inequalities and discriminations.
In this perspective, the examination of (1) Welfaire State institutions and
(2) anti-discrimination laws will be privileged.
