Learning unit contents
The purpose of this course is to think about clinical implications that can be drawn from current scientific literature in the fiel of psychology of aging (Assessment, clinical issues, therapeutic approaches).
The selected topics may change from one year to another, depending on articles recently published in the literature. The course also allows to deepen certain topics that were only superficially approached in previous classes.
Finally, some themes are chosen for their relevance of being addressed at the end of the student training course (notably because they can benefit from the experience gained during their training course).
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
The aim of this course is not only to complete the students' knowledge on clinical psychology of aging, but also enable them to acquire a distanced and critical view of researches in particular linking research and clinic. The student must be able to question the way he "manages" certain clinical situations.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
Students must have completed the courses in psychology of aging and preferably to have done an internship on this theme.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Course given in the form of seminars:
- Presentation of articles by groups of students or a single one (this depends on the number of students participating in this course)

Papers or book chapters dealing with the topics seen during the course.
The assessment is based both on a written report and an oral
presentation of the student's synthesis and analysis on on the topic that
has been addressed in the bibliographical research.
The successful completion of the course is achieved if both the report and
the oral presentation are satisfactory. The written report must be given before the oral presentation.
The oral presentation is allowed only if the content and form of the report
aresatisfactory. The written report consists of a report of about 5000 words on the addressed topic. The oral presentation lasts 40-45 minutes and is followed by a 15-20 minutes question and answer session.
