Course contents :  
The place of medical psychology is defined in the field of scientific medicine. Developmental psychology during childhood, adolescence and adulthood is discussed as a bio-psycho-social approach.
The specific psychological aspects to the doctor-patient relationship are thematically introduced. In an integrative perspective of psychic functioning, new discoveries in neurosciences are integrated with cognitive-behavioral and psychodynamic models.
Learning outcomes of the course :  
Place of medical psychology in the field of scientific medicine. Concepts of health, illness, mental health. The bio-psycho-social model. Developmental Psychology. The conscious and the three unconscious.Psychological impacts of life events. Elements of communication theory. The doctor-patient relationship. The new science of mind.
