Learning unit contents

After a review of the role of medical psychology in the field of medicine, the question of normal and pathological is discussed in comparison with the concepts of health and disease. Using the psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural models, the course introduces the main topics of psychopathology : anxiety, depression, personality disorders etc... Applications of medical psychology in the practice of doctor-patient relationship will integrate theory and practice.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

Normality and pathology. Psychopathology : definition, perspectives of care. Psychic reality. Anxiety and defenses. The structural model of personality. Psychodynamic approach to adult psychopathology. Clinical situation. Applications of medical psychology to medical practice.
