- Psychosocial approach to the treatment (prevention and management) of conflict situations.
- Conflict theories (definition, types, levels of analysis, dynamics, ...).
- Differences between mediation - negotiation - arbitration - conciliation.
- Negotiation on positions versus interests.
- Focus on mediation (principles, process, mediator's posture, skills, attitudes & tools).
- Testimonials from conflict prevention/management professionals.
- Links with the profession of psychologist.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
At the end of the course, students will be able to:
- analyze, using the concepts, theories and tools presented in the course, the complexity of a given conflict situation encountered in private or professional life.

- propose and justify an appropriate strategy for dealing with a given conflict situation.
