Learning unit contents

This course propose a review of different types of wildlife management.
1. Internationals tools of conservation 2. Management of tourism and game activity 3. Wildlife management in tropical forest 4. Capture and cropping 5. Human-wildlife conflicts 6. Zoo and sanctuarys in conservation strategies 7. Wildlife breeding 8. Management plan

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

Starting with lectures and reviewing articles that express opposite opinions, wildlife management methods are presented to the students. After completing the course the student is expected to propose methods that reconcile social, ecological and economic aspect for a participatory sustainable management of wildlife.He will be also capable of developping a critical and ethic mind on wildlife management.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

General course of Zoology, ecology and sociology from bach; course on participative management (1 master); It is recommended to follow the whole module "wildlife" proposed (6 ects) in which this course joins.
