Learning unit contents

Prevention and control of emerging diseases:
- System of surveillance and good governance
- immunological aspects related to emerging diseases
- Medical prophylaxis with emphasis to the vaccination
- Sanitary prophylaxis
 

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

- Understand epidemiosurveillance networks and their governance. - Being able to provide options for prevention, and management of an emerging disease. - Understand the basics of immunology related to emerging diseases - Understand the basics of vaccination as a tool for control of an emerging disease.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

Basic principles in infectiology.
Basic knowledge of infectious diseases and epidemiology of infectious and zoonotic diseases.
