Units courses prerequisite and corequisite

Prerequisite or corequisite units are presented within each program

Learning unit contents

The course is mainly practical with the analyses of real biological data. A large part of these practical sessions are devoted to the effective statistical analysis of experimental data related to experiments carried out within the framework of ethological or ecological studies.

The other part of the courses consists in discussions in small groups, around the statistical analyses reported in scientific publications.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

Select and apply suitable statistical tests with datasets commonly produced in ethological and ecological studies.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

To master the notions of the courses of basic and multivariate statistics

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Presentation of R and RStudio.

Short theoretical introductions followed by tutorials to analyse contextualised data.

Discussions in small groups.
