Histology and physiology of the skin and mucous membranes

This course is on tissues that are present in the external tegumentary system and on histophysiological aspects of the skin and its adnexal structures. Transversal notions such as skin colour and immunity, aging and scarring will be discussed.

Students will be able to describe, recognize and establisch the relation between the structure and the function of the various discussed tissues en organs.
