Partim A. MAINJOT
The course introduces the discipline of Dental Biomaterials, discussing general and key concepts in direct relation to digital workflow and clinical practice. It is divided into 3 parts:
- Ceramic and composite biomaterials
- Shaping of restorative biomaterials, including digital processes
- Integration into the overall digital workflow
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
Digital workflow in Orthodontics
Partim A. MAINJOT
The general aim of the course is to enable students to understand the main characteristics of ceramic and composite dental biomaterials, their manufacturing processes, and their integration into the overall digital workflow, in order to gain a better understanding of their use in clinical practice. At the end of the course, students will be able to:
-recognize the different categories of ceramic dental biomaterials, their main properties and indications
-analyze the different categories of composite dental biomaterials
-identify their main properties and indications
-develop the various methods of designing restorative dental biomaterials, including modern digital manufacturing methods
-understand the general evolution of dental biomaterials
-understand how prosthetic biomaterials fit into the overall digital workflow
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
Casts in Orthodontics
Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The learning method is based on the inverted classroom principle.
Certain notions must be acquired before the face-to-face session, via videos available on the learning platform. In these videos, the teacher explains the material using visual aids.
The course includes a large number of practical illustrations and videos.
Course materials (slides) are provided on the platform.
Mode of delivery (face to face, distance learning, hybrid learning)
Blended learning
