The course deals with the socio-anthropological aspects of nature conservation from a historical perspective of norms and projects. The focus is on the development of conservation in the South, often with the strong involvement of "Northern" actors.

The course aims to equip future environmental managers to deal with issues related to nature conservation. The latter is characterised by a multitude of actors, institutions, projects and standards. The objective is that students become capable of developing autonomous protocols for critical analysis of the multitude of norms, practices and tools in circulation in the world of nature conservation.

- Thinking about conservation issues by crossing disciplines (from the work of knowledge from anthropology, philosophy, ecology, management sciences, etc.)
- think about conservation through problem situations (using case studies, audio-visual aids, reports from field workers, etc.)
