Learning unit contents

The course will address in particular the following themes:
- drug development,
- methodology of therapeutic trials,
- specific types of trials,
- reliability and validity of a diagnostic test,
- quality of studies,
- risk of bias,
- causality in epidemiology,

During the practical work sessions, exercises on the various themes listed above will be carried out .

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

This course will enable students to acquire the knowledge and skills to apply, in the field, increasingly sophisticated methods and tools to address increasingly complex public health phenomena, yet often requiring increasingly rapid decisions and management. At the end of this course, students will understand the epidemiological reasoning and methodology applied in the field.

The student should master the basic concepts in Epidemiology.
