Learning unit contents

The course introduces...

  • the different kinds of grammar that are recognized and that can be used,
  • the role of grammar in teaching and learning a language,
  • the status of implicit and explicit grammar, in particular in the context of learning using communicative and immersion methods,
  • the issue of selection, (spiral) progression, (interlanguage) assimilation of grammatical content,
  • the structures and processes for teaching grammar in class in inductive logic and action-oriented.
Students will analyze grammars, textbooks and lessons, in order to prepare a grammar lesson that respects the principles of the communicative and actional approach, and the different stages and main organising principles of a didactic sequence.
