Learning unit contents
This course is actually an introduction to immunopathology, i.e. the study of diseases involving primarily or secondarily an abnormal functioning of the immune system. It constitutes therefore a transition between the course of general immunology of the third quadrimester and the courses of general and specialized pathology which will come afterwards. While illustrating the different pathological principals by the description of diseases, the course focuses primarily on mechanistical aspects rather than on diagnostic or therapeutic details which will be dealt with in the following years. The principal chapters are
- Immunodeficiencies (clinical aspects of HIV infections will be discussed in the course of Infectious diseases)
- Allergy and hypersensitivity
- Autoimmunity
- Autoinflammation
- Manipulation of immune responses
- antimoral response

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
This Module is multidisciplinar (based on different theoretical courses in different disciplines).
Practical works (MEDE0002 and MEDE0003) and Problem-based seminars (APPR0001) complete the practical and clinical aspects.

Hybrid course (theoretical aspects in classical classrooms ; some practical aspects are developped within e-learning and small groups sessions).
