Subject: Treatment of drug addiction in hospitals and detoxification of newborns
The objective of the course is to present the different treatment regimens offered in hospitals for the management of addictions, more particularly those to opiates and alcohol. Attention is paid to the management of newborns, who may be subject to a withdrawal syndrome in the event of in utero exposure to psychotropic drugs.
Subject : Influences of pathological states on the bioavailability of drugs and their toxicities
The objective is to illustrate the impact of organ failure, mainly hepatic and renal, on the fate of the drug in the body.
Through examples, the tools for assessing the severity of organic damage are presented, with the aim of individualizing the dose of drugs to be administered for each patient (notion of personalized medicine)

The goals of the lessons include comprehension of withdrawal problems, and evaluation of the response variabilities for treatment, especially for patients admitted in hospital with organic deficiencies
