Learning unit contents

The course is organised as follows. First, students attend seminars to train them into cas study analysis from a psychodynamic perspective. They have the opportunity to study the in-depth presentation of a clinical case with data from different sources (clinical observation, relational dynamics, etc).

Second, they are called to analyze this clinical case according to a grid of questions from psychodynamical analysis. This part of the work is done in small work groups defined at the beginning of the class.

Third, students are asked to compare their analysis approches and draw their own conclusions.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

The objectives of this course are:

- To confront the clinical practice to concepts, models and tools from other courses (semiology, psychiatry, psychopathology) that might be useful for students in their future professional activity.

- To train students into the analysis and synthesis of clinical data (stemming from observation and other tools) so that they can prepare diagnoses and case analyses.

- To improve their capacity for analysis, comparison and the integration of clinical data from a psychodynamical point of view.
