Learning unit contents

This course adresses French-and German-speaking students. It consists of three parts:

-current social and political discussions in Germany and the German-speaking countries

- an exemplary overview of the most important historical topics, such as the Weimar Republic, National Socialism and the history of the FRG and GDR, as well as reunification.

- an insight into cultural topics (e.g. German bookfairs and the German Bookprize, the German author Georg Büchner...)

 

An excursion (23.11.23) is part of this course.

Literary texts, newspaper articles and audiovisual media are used in the seminar. Students are expected to actively participate in the seminar, e.g. in the form of an presentation (pecha kucha format) on a current topic and by participating in discussions.
